Trump: Half is Better Than None

Breitbart News reported today that local Fox affiliate Indianapolis Fox 59 reported that a deal has been inked by President Elect Donald Trump that would keep about half of the jobs in the U.S. that Carrier Corporation was originally planning to send to Mexico.

Trump, pictured in the Breitbart article wearing a hard hat and some might say resembling a Macho Man from the Village People, claims that he has been working hard on the deal for at least one week.

“I am working hard, even on Thanksgiving, trying to get Carrier A.C. Company to stay in the U.S. (Indiana). MAKING PROGRESS – Will know soon!” he tweeted on Thanksgiving from Mar-a-Largo, his estate in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The populist leader received extra incentive to work with Carrier Corporation in February, when a video surfaced of executives telling workers that the company’s U.S. facilities would be shutting down and the jobs would would be moved to Monterrey, Mexico. After the video went viral, it fed into Trump’s narrative about jobs being lost due to bad trade deals, Breitbart reported.

Details were scarce about exactly how President Elect Trump will keep the Carrier jobs in the U.S., though Breitbart did report that The Hill newspaper reported that he will make it less expensive to do business in the United States than in Mexico.
